The PMdistilled Guide and the Project Management Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK)

Many ask me questions about the alignment of the PMdistilled Guide and the PMBOK, hence this post. The PMdistilled Guide covers all the topics covered in PMBOK and at the same time the sequence is different. In PMBOK, both agile and traditional project management are all explained together where as in the PMdistilled Guide they are explained as different sections. The first few chapters focuses on predictive project management. The following chapters explain agile and hybrid, followed by the tools and techniques that can be used in any type of projects.
As far as possible, we have tried to explain things following the natural flow of projects through;
- Initiation
- Planning
- Execution
- Monitoring & Controlling
- Closing
This approach makes PMdistilled Guide easier to read and remember.
