Affinity diagrams are widely used in project management to organize the ideas captured using brainstorming. Affinity diagrams allows large numbers of ideas stemming from brainstorming to be sorted into groups based on their natural relationships for further analysis / consolidation. The affinity diagram below shows the affinity of the project management processes to the process groups of Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring&Controlling and Closing according to the project management body of knowledge.
